Description

The New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro v9 Women's is a cushioned trail shoe for longer days out. This B width pair comes in Angora, a soft neutral that hides the mud well. With a Vibram Megagrip outsole and plenty of foam, it suits runners who want a protective ride on forest loops, gravel and rolling backcountry tracks.

Why You'll Love It

Thick dual-density foam keeps tired legs happy.
The 4mm drop feels natural and settled.
Updated lugs give confident traction in the wet.
A reinforced toe area helps with the odd rock kick.

Technical Features

Midsole: Dual-density Fresh Foam X
Drop: 4mm
Stack height: 42mm heel, 38mm forefoot
Outsole: Vibram Megagrip with 6mm lugs
Upper: Mesh and synthetic, gusseted tongue, abrasion-resistant overlays
Protection: Toe Protect at the front of the shoe
Support: Neutral
Width: B (standard); also made in wide and extra wide

Perfect For

Building up to long trail days
Mixed terrain from gravel to singletrack
Runners who value cushioning and protection

Less suited to: Fast, technical mountain running, where a lighter and lower shoe gives better feel. For that, look at Trail Footwear.

Why We Stock It

If you've tried a trail shoe that felt harsh after a few hours, the Hierro is the answer we reach for. The v9 is softer underfoot and grippier than the last, so it works for people who want to go long and not worry about the ground beneath them.
